TheNeckOfTheWoods.com Two 180 foot Fir Tree removals in La Honda California before a major storm system moved in. The trees were located on a steep hillside , which required setting a block 150 feet high in another Fir Tree 60 feet away to position the logs away from any structures and obsticles below , to a landing site where they could roll down into a canyon safely. One tree with limbs over hanging the cabin , the other closer to the high voltage lines had limbs extending 20 feet over them and the roadway . Entry from: Chengdu, China Entry Title: “Chengdu” Entry: “Sunday 8th August We had breakfast at the hotel and were re-united with the truck for our first truck day in a week. We’re being broken back in gently with an 11am start, which was nice. The scenery in this area is mainly agricultural, pretty mountainous and quite stunning. The road winds through the mountains and through numerous tunnels and a lot of the road is built on massive concrete stilts which really is incredible. We stopped at service stations for snacks and toilet stops which is a bit of a novelty and our bush camp for the night ended up being a patch of grass behind one of the service stations which was not as grim as it sounds. It was pretty handy really as there was a shop there and we had use of the toilets all night. Monday 9th August We left the ‘bush-camp’ at 7am and headed to Chengdu. The scenery for the first part of the journey was again pretty mountainous and a huge new section of road is being built alongside the river which looked like an amazing feat of engineering. The number of massive concrete stilts under construction across the landscape looked slightly unreal (see piccys) – you can just about appreciate the immense size of them if you look at the size of the JCBs in comparison.
